Tom Simak

I'm Tom Simak, co-founder of Wild Blue, and a Melbourne-based music-loving, travel-hungry, plant-based runner .

While I've conquered dozens of half marathons, my favourite was the Khmer Angkor Wat Half Marathon – I stupidly broke a few small parts of my foot just days before the race, and decided to run it on pain medications and anti-inflammatories, and still managed to snag a top 15th place. Probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but worth it! But my proudest running moment? That's gotta be the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge. Picture this: 4 miles (6.5km) every 4 hours for 48 hours straight, totalling a whopping 77 kilometres. Running that distance without much sleep was truly a challenge. It was a wild ride, but I came out on top!

My love of running and fitness led me to the desire to formally study. I have a Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness and am a Level 2 run coach with Athletics Australia.

I love working with all my clients, from those looking to run their first 5km, to those training for an ultra-marathon!

Mitchell Lower

I'm Mitchell Lower, a co-founder of Wild Blue Performance Running, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to our team.

 

With a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, my academic foundation lays the groundwork for a deep understanding of the physiological and biomechanical aspects crucial to effective fitness coaching. My commitment to professional development is underscored by my Level 2 Running Coach qualification with Athletics Australia, signifying my expertise in designing comprehensive running programs tailored to individual needs and allowing me to integrate diverse training modalities into the offerings of Wild Blue Performance Running.

 

My current running aspiration see's me running a half marathon trail, and then run a full marathon by the end of the year. 

One of my proudest athletic achievements is the transformation I underwent over the course of a few years. I went from struggling with foot health issues and being unable to run more than a kilometer barefoot on grass to developing strong feet and successfully completing a half marathon barefoot on grass.

 

Here at Wild Blue, I will continue to inspire others to embrace the untamed spirit of running and reach new heights in their fitness journey.

Andy Bryant

Podiatrist

As a specialised Podiatrist, I bring 20 years of experience to the table, and let me tell you, I've seen my fair share of feet! Each day, I find professional satisfaction in the work I do, and I'm committed to promoting natural foot function and returning feet to their intended way of moving in harmony with the rest of the body.

Over the past few years, my approach to practice has evolved significantly, with a dedicated focus on natural foot function and the benefits of the barefoot movement and natural footwear.

 

As a forever student of The Foot Nerd Program with The Foot Collective, I am part of an international group of health educators focused on improving general health outcomes starting from the feet.

 

Outside of work, I wear many hats—I'm a proud Dad, husband, son, and sibling. While I used to be fiercely competitive, I now embrace a more relaxed approach to life. From being an avid runner and cyclist to finding inspiration in yoga, weight training, jogging, and walking my kelpie dog, You'll often find me tending to the garden, surfing, playing ping pong, engaging in backyard cricket, or barefoot hiking. 

Throughout my career, I've discovered that educating others is where my true passion lies. Combined with my love for movement and natural living, this has become an immeasurable source of motivation to help others achieve their best.
